Review by joseph Rating: With switch prices down to about $ 10 per port, it is difficult to justify buying anything less than 10/100-switch for all but the most cost-conscious buyer. As most 5-port 10 / 100 switches have the same capabilities and cost about the same, there is not much to distinguish one from another. However, I especially like the switch Netgear FS-105 5-port. Like other NETGEAR products, this switch is a little nicer than the competition because it has: – Nice sturdy metal instead of plastic. The case also has a tab to land if you use the switch in an environment (electric) high noise level .- status indicators in integrated connection sockets, so you can easily know what cable is connected and is active. (The vistajack “feature.) – Right angle barrel power connector which reduces the probability of accidentally disconnecting switch .- An easy access to switch between a port and link station mode. Unlike some centers where the two cylinders are interconnected, this approach avoids a short-circuiting of one station to uplink .- mounting screw slots on the front allows easy attachment to the wall, underside of counter, an address etc. With 1000-MAC buffer and 200 kilo-bytes of packet buffer per port, the switch can easily handle the traffic load typical of small and medium enterprises Netgear products is not the channel networks cheapest 10/100-switch (see Fast Ethernet Switch D-Link, for example), but for the overall design and value for money, I still like the Netgear more.

Review by Bill Rating: I’ve been replacing my ethernet hubs with switches (because the throughput on a switch is much better than a hub). After careful consideration, I decided to get a D-Link 5-port switch and a Netgear 5-port switch, both auto-sensing for 10/100 rate. The truth is they both work great! They both have good results and were equally easy connection (no software to deal with). I’ll add one thing that the box D-Link is a much better design than the Netgear. Firstly, it is much smaller (the image of the D-Link here is deceiving). Secondly, the Netgear has the LED lights and the ethernet ports on the same side. For my installation, I prefer the ports on the rear and front lamps. I think the Netgear switch was shaped over a rack. Style aside, a big thumb up for the two switches

Ethernet cables plugged into the front of the camera, while the power cord plugs in the back. The problem here is that if your Ethernet cables are as flexible as hot butter, they get in the way of a conduit or the other. when I plugged three cables in the box beside the SAT because the weight of the cable holding up up. If you go to the wall mounting unit (it comes with screws to do so), then that might help, but if you put it on your desktop, Ethernet cables running from the front of it, instead of behind … The machine is hot, make sure you have security clearance on all sides so that it becomes the air. otherwise, despite the problems of design, product is smooth. led at 10/100 Mbps, full duplex, collisions, and the fifth port is also uplink …. Netgear fast networking is a quality product.

Review by V. Hutson Rating: What a good product! I plugged a PS3, Xbox360, two computers, and our DSL cable (all Ethernet cables) on this switch and now all four systems of Internet connection. It was so easy!

My only regret is that I did not get the 8-port switch. I do not know that the ADSL connection is in one of these before 5 ports. I thought maybe there was a port on the back (similar to a USB hub). I hoped to have an available port to connect a laptop, but the four systems and ADSL uses all five ports available.

Review by D. Rating: I bought the FS105 just so I can connect a TiVo to a wired network in a room with one Ethernet port and an office is already using this port.

And now, when I plugged the switch the download speed on my office doubled. overall system performance is noticeably faster now, even in non-Internet applications. Obviously, the office has been the use of system resources unnecessarily processing of Ethernet traffic, and the partition that led to my network switch that eliminated unnecessary treatment.

It’s great when a product does more advertising.
