USB Extender: Designed to extend distances between USB peripherals and host computers
In the past, extending peripheral devices beyond the 5 meter distance barrier was very limited. The USB Extender allows you to extend up to four USB 1.1 peripheral devices to 150 feet from the host computer. Composed of two separate units which connect to the host and peripherals via attached USB cables, the transmitter and receiver conversely connect to one another via Cat5 cable. These devices are simple to set up using plug and play technology and require no software or drivers to install.
In other configurations where running USB or Cat5 cables is inhibiting, the Wireless USB Extender comes into play. It uses wireless 802.11g radio to link the sender and the receiver units providing instant access to data with zero wires. The system is powered at both the PC host unit as well as the remote USB hub unit. Using Icron’s patented Extreme USB technology, this device supports both low USB 1.1 and hi-speed USB 2.0 peripherals and is compatible with multiple PC platforms such as XP, Vista, UNIX, Linux and Mac OSX. With the maximum reach extending beyond 30 meters, this extender hub is a four-port hub set enabling immediate high-speed wireless connectivity. Additional hub connections are supported for more devices.
The USB 2.0 Extender supports USB 2.0 peripheral devices at speeds up to 480 Mb/s at a distance up to 330ft, revolutionizing the home, office and industrial workspace by enabling high speed USB device connectivity. Additionally, it saves desktop space and eliminates computer noise in the work area. Equipped with the standard agency approvals such as FCC and CE Class A certification, it works with up to four remote peripherals as if they were all connected locally. They also have LEDs which indicate the link performance status and an 5V DC adapter at the remote unit provides standard 500mA of power. This extender is ideal for a wide range of USB devices such as printers, scanners, web cams, and hard drives. Especially useful in places where CPUs may be located in a separate room to protect them from hazards such as adverse environmental conditions, theft or unauthorized installation of software, the USB Extender is used in limitless applications worldwide.
